Trouble Clef
Trouble Clef was born last year when its sax player
was looking for the best jazz musicians in town.
After many changes the final set up is: Abhishek on
the piano, Roshan on bass, Kiran on the drums,
Arpana on vocals and Mariano on the sax.
Their music is full of energy and surprises, which
covers jazz standards and originals and lots of
improvisation from each one of the band members.
Definitely is the new jazz sensation of the Nepali
jazz scene.
Arpana is probably the only Nepali jazz singer who
can scat. She started singing professionally with
Women In concert in 2005 with 17 years-old and, in
the same year, performed at the Jazzmandu Festival
as part of the renowned Nepali band Cadenza.
Arpana interest for jazz took her to take lessons in
music theory and improvisation at KJC. As she puts
it “this is what I want to do for the rest of my
life” and definitely she has a great future.
